Alternative Meats Jeanette Edgar and Rachel Godwin visited Heaves Farm to see for themselves how we raise our rosé veal calves.
Alternatives Meats have pioneered the consumption of traditionally less eaten meats such as Ostrich, Kobe beef, Caribou and Alligator since 2003 and have been champions of rosé veal since the beginning.
They have tried rosé veal from farms across the UK and have recently chosen Heaves Farm Veal to be their sole supplier after being very impressed with the high welfare conditions and the way in which we rear our calves. Rachel claims in over 6 years of stocking British rosé veal, Heaves Farm Veal was better than anything they have tasted before!
Rachel and Jeannie have recently launched their own book - The Exotic Meat Cookbook, Antelope to Zebra.
The book is full of delicious recipes, illustrated with lovely full colour photographs and providing helpful advice on cooking all of the meats they sell, including British rosé veal, and is available from their website, Waterstones, Borders and all good independent bookshops.
Rachel and Jeannie have become great friends and ambassadors of Heaves Farm Veal and we wish them the very best of luck with the launch!
